Prior to that, the Cyclones traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the Pacific Regionals as the #9 seed. They lost in the regional play - in game, which would have qualified them for the ACHA Division III National Tournament, to Cal State Northridge by a score of 7-6.

Iowa State has a strong core of returning players and an excellent crop of incoming freshman who will look for NCCHA titles for regular season and tournament as well as their first bid to Nationals.
